Itinerary: A Day of Authentic Exploration in Sapa
9:00 AM – Hotel Pickup or Meeting at Sapa Church
Your day begins at 9:00 AM as our local guide meets you at your hotel or the iconic Sapa Church. After a quick briefing about the trek, we begin our journey on foot, heading toward the stunning mountain trails right from the center of town.
Ham Rong Mountain – Panoramic Viewpoint of Sapa (1,800m)
Duration: ~3 hours
Trek through small village paths and lush cornfields as you ascend to the top of Dragon Jaw Mountain (Ham Rong). After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking, you’ll reach the peak at 1,800 meters above sea level.
From this viewpoint, take in sweeping views of Sapa town, the magnificent Muong Hoa Valley, and even the legendary Fansipan Mountain – the Roof of Indochina. If the weather is clear, you’ll witness a mesmerizing sea of clouds drifting between mountain peaks — a dreamlike sight perfect for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Lunch Stop at Hang Da Village – A Black Hmong Cultural Gem
Duration: ~1 hour
Continue your trek down to Hang Da Village, home of the Black H’mong ethnic group. This peaceful village is famous for its large stone outcrops, traditional wooden houses, and panoramic views of terraced rice fields.
Here, we’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch featuring traditional H’mong dishes, giving you a taste of the region’s unique culinary culture.
Trek Through Bamboo Trails to Hau Thao and Giang Ta Chai Villages
Duration: ~1.5 hours
After lunch, we continue hiking through small forest trails and scenic ridges toward Hau Chu Ngai and Giang Ta Chai villages. Walk along quiet paths surrounded by rice terraces, mountain cliffs, and traditional wooden homes perched on the hillsides.
You’ll meet locals going about their daily life, and get a deeper understanding of how the ethnic minority communities live in harmony with nature.
Giang Ta Chai Village – Culture & Traditions of Black Hmong & Red Dao
Duration: ~1 hour
Our final stop is Giang Ta Chai, a beautiful and authentic village shared by the Black Hmong and Red Dao people. Visit a small local museum where your guide will introduce you to traditional clothing, spiritual customs, and family life passed down through generations.
After this enriching cultural experience, we return to Sapa town by car, arriving at your accommodation around late afternoon.
