Begin your journey from Sapa town, where our experienced local guide will take you up to a stunning mountain viewpoint at 1,900 meters above sea level. From here, enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Sapa town, the Muong Hoa Valley, and the towering Fansipan Mountain – known as the Roof of Indochina (3,143m).
As you trek along scenic mountain trails, you’ll have the chance to admire Vietnam’s largest and most famous terraced rice fields in the Muong Hoa Valley. Capture unforgettable views as you pass by remote Black Hmong villages such as Hang Da and Hau Thao, where local life remains untouched by modernity.
Along the way, your guide will share stories and insights into Hmong culture – from unique marriage customs and rice farming methods to traditional house-building techniques. You’ll also learn about five different ethnic groups living in the region, each with its own language, dress, and traditions.

Embark on a memorable Local trekking journey through Sapa breathtaking mountains and authentic ethnic villages. This full-day guided tour offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and local life — ideal for travelers seeking a deeper, more meaningful experience in northern Vietnam.
Your day begins at 9:00 AM as our local guide meets you at your hotel or the iconic Sapa Church. After a quick briefing about the trek, we begin our journey on foot, heading toward the stunning mountain trails right from the center of town.
Duration: ~3 hours
Trek through small village paths and lush cornfields as you ascend to the top of Dragon Jaw Mountain (Ham Rong). After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking, you’ll reach the peak at 1,800 meters above sea level.
From this viewpoint, take in sweeping views of Sapa town, the magnificent Muong Hoa Valley, and even the legendary Fansipan Mountain – the Roof of Indochina. If the weather is clear, you’ll witness a mesmerizing sea of clouds drifting between mountain peaks — a dreamlike sight perfect for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Duration: ~1 hour
Continue your trek down to Hang Da Village, home of the Black H’mong ethnic group. This peaceful village is famous for its large stone outcrops, traditional wooden houses, and panoramic views of terraced rice fields.
Here, we’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch featuring traditional H’mong dishes, giving you a taste of the region’s unique culinary culture.
Duration: ~1.5 hours
After lunch, we continue hiking through small forest trails and scenic ridges toward Hau Chu Ngai and Giang Ta Chai villages. Walk along quiet paths surrounded by rice terraces, mountain cliffs, and traditional wooden homes perched on the hillsides.
You’ll meet locals going about their daily life, and get a deeper understanding of how the ethnic minority communities live in harmony with nature.
Duration: ~1 hour
Our final stop is Giang Ta Chai, a beautiful and authentic village shared by the Black Hmong and Red Dao people. Visit a small local museum where your guide will introduce you to traditional clothing, spiritual customs, and family life passed down through generations.
After this enriching cultural experience, we return to Sapa town by car, arriving at your accommodation around late afternoon.

We will tell you a day before your tour how many other people will be joining you.
If nobody else joins your tour, you will have a private tour (just you) for an extra 5 USD (which you will need to pay then).
If there are other people joining you, but there are fewer than 2 people total.
6+ days prior tour start date: 100% reimbursement of the tour price (no cancellation charges)
2 to 5-days prior tour start date: 50% reimbursement of the tour price
1 day before or same day of tour start date: no reimbursement

The bus ride to Sapa takes about 6 hours. If you get to Sapa earlier than planned, you can wait at the bus station or on the bus itself until 5:00 am.

Whichever option you choose, once we receive your booking, we’ll confirm it and send you your bus tickets!
Cabin Sleeper Bus (30 USD each way): This option has a private room with 2 bunk beds, perfect for couples or anyone who wants privacy.
Single Cabin Sleeper Bus (20 USD each way): This is a private room with just one bed, ideal for solo travelers who want some peace and quiet.
Sleeper Bus (15 USD each way): This is the most affordable option. You’ll have a single bed in a shared space.
