1. Why Is Sapa Local Guide

Sapa Local Guide is run by a team of Hmong people from Sapa itself! We know all the best places to go because we grew up right here. We offer hiking, trekking, and motorbike adventures to show you the hidden beauty of Sapa. That means you’ll see things most tourists miss!

2. Where do Sapa Local Guide start

On the morning of the trip, we will meet you at your hotel in Sapa town. If you like, we can also meet in front of Sapa’s main church. No need to worry about finding a guide – we’ll send you photos of them in advance so you know who to look for. They will hold a sign with your name on it along with the Sapa Local Guide logo.

3. How many hours and km does the local trek take

When you meet our local guide you can decide together with your guide what would like to do for your trek.
Our knowledgeable local guides from the ethnic minority groups are adjusted to the difficulty level you want.
We do easy, difficult and some hard trek where there is no tourist or remote village just you and the guide. The normal trek is about 11-13km per day and you will walk 5-6 hours.
The hard trek or difficult trek will take like 16-17km and you will walk 8-9 hours.

4. Running a little late

Don’t worry if you don’t see your instructions right away. Sometimes other guides may try to invite you to join their tour. Be patient – Sapa local tour guide will be with you soon!
Where can you leave your luggage while you are on our trek?
You can leave your luggage at our office while you are trekking and you can take a shower at the end of your trek.

5. What is a homestay accommodation

Live like a local!
Want to experience what it’s really like to live in our town? Stay with a local family in a homestay! You’ll get your own room in a clean and safe house with hot showers, western toilets, and super-fast WiFi (free of course!).
Dinner’s on us!
Every evening, you’ll have dinner with your host family. It’s a great way to chat, practice your English, and try some delicious local food (all included in your stay!). Want a cold drink? You can buy beer or soda from your friendly host.

6. What guests should bring

Don’t forget your good ol’ sneakers! We’ll be trekking through forests, crossing streams, and going up and down hills. It can get a little wet sometimes, so shoes with good grip are best. But hey, you might even see some people here tackling these trails in flip flops – that’s just how awesome they are! If you’re coming during the rainy season (May to July), definitely pack a raincoat. Even if it’s not raining cats and dogs, it’s a good idea to bring one along anyway. You might also want to pack some bug spray to keep those pesky mosquitos at bay. Other than that, throw on some comfy clothes and bring some cash for drinks or souvenirs you might find along the way. Have fun!

7. How can I get to Sapa from the train station

Many visitors come to Lao Cai by train. It’s a city on the border of Vietnam and China. We can help you get from the train station to Sapa town or the start of your hiking trip! We have two options:
Private car: This is a good choice for your group of four. It costs $30 each way to take you all together.
Group bus: This is a more budget-friendly option for one person. It costs only $3 each way.
