Imagine a giant hill with a flat top, that’s where we’re going! From there, you can see EVERYTHING: Sapa town, the super tall Fansipan mountain (it’s way taller than this hill!), the cool Silver Waterfall, and even tiny villages.

Plus, you might even spot some awesome animals, like water buffalo, cows, and goats!

This is the BEST way to explore Sapa: it’s off the tourist trail, totally unique, and an adventure you won’t forget. On top of that, you’ll see incredible rice paddies in the last village!

Detailed itinerary of local Sapa tour guide

Sapa Adventure: Hike and Picnic in the Mountains! (Full Day)
Morning (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM):

9:00 AM: We’ll meet you at your hotel or Sapa Church. Your guide will introduce themselves and then hop in the car for a scenic ride to O Quy Ho village (about 8 kilometers).
– The adventure begins! Your guide will lead you up the mountain. On the way, you’ll see lots of fruit trees and vegetables that Sapa is famous for, like chayote (su su), cabbage, pears, and even green tea!
– Keep your eyes peeled for a beautiful little waterfall! We’ll also stop by a red rose garden – roses are the symbol of love, after all!
– Enjoy the amazing views for about 40 minutes. You might even see some cows and goats grazing in the fields!
– We’ll reach the first peak! This grassy area offers breathtaking views – perfect for a quick nap, some photos, or a game of frisbee!
12:00 PM: Time for lunch! Your guide will prepare a delicious picnic in a beautiful spot. This peak is even higher than the first one, so get ready for even more amazing panoramic views! From here, you might see Mount Fansipan, Silver Waterfall, Ban Khoang village, Ta Phin village, and much more!
Afternoon (1:00 PM – 3:40 PM):

– After lunch, we’ll head back down the mountain. On the way, you might see some interesting dead trees that haven’t decomposed yet.
– Keep your eyes open for buffalo, goats, and cows having lunch in the fields! We’ll also get some stunning views of Ban Khoang and Ta Phin villages.
– You might see a small hut on the way. This might seem simple, but it’s a happy home for a local family.
– We’ll continue our trek to Ta Phin village, home to the Red Dao and Black Hmong ethnic minorities. The Hmong people have unique traditions, especially around marriage. The Red Dao are known for their herbal medicine skills, using plants to treat illnesses. We’ll also see some amazing rice fields, which are a vital food source for the locals.
– Once we reach the center of Ta Phin village, a car will pick us up and take us back to Sapa town.
3:40 PM: We’ll arrive back at your hotel. Don’t forget to thank your guide and say goodbye! This will be an unforgettable adventure, and you might have even made a new friend! (The tour ends around 4:00 PM, so you’ll have plenty of time to book a bus back to Hanoi or explore Sapa further.)

Price for a group tour

This tour is for groups of 2 to 6 people. The price is 45 USD per person.

Here’s how it works:

– We will tell you a day before your tour how many other people will be joining you.

– If nobody else joins your tour, you will have a private tour (just you) for an extra 15 USD (which you will need to pay then).

– If there are other people joining you, but there are fewer than 2 people total, there will be no extra charge.

Sapa Local Guide cancellation policy

6+ days prior tour start date: 100% reimbursement of the tour price (no cancellation charges)
2 to 5-days prior tour start date: 50% reimbursement of the tour price
1 day before or same day of tour start date: no reimbursement

The bus ride to Sapa takes about 6 hours. If you get to Sapa earlier than planned, you can wait at the bus station or on the bus itself until 5:00 am.

We have three bus options:

Sleeper Bus: This is a good choice if you’re on a budget and don’t mind sharing some space. Plus, the beds can be adjusted if you’re a bit taller.
Cabin Sleeper Bus: This is a more private option with a private cabin.
Single Cabin Sleeper Bus: This is also a private cabin, but for just one person.

Whichever option you choose, once we receive your booking, we’ll confirm it and send you your bus tickets!

Bus Price

Cabin Sleeper Bus (30 USD each way): This option has a private room with 2 bunk beds, perfect for couples or anyone who wants privacy.

Single Cabin Sleeper Bus (20 USD each way): This is a private room with just one bed, ideal for solo travelers who want some peace and quiet.

Sleeper Bus (15 USD each way): This is the most affordable option. You’ll have a single bed in a shared space.
